About the Department:
The center’s primary objective is to serve as an academic hub for thought leadership and for the emergence of novel solutions to support the Homeland Security Enterprise (HSE) in its efforts to effectively predict, detect, identify, monitor, track, disrupt, thwart, and ultimately dismantle Transnational Criminal Organizations (TCOs) and other illicit actors. The center advances science while pursuing the development of cutting-edge solutions and innovative educational and training activities to support today’s and tomorrow’s DHS workforce. The Center is part of the Office of Research, Innovation, and Economic Impact and is funded in part by a DHS multi-year, multi-fund grant. (https://cina.gmu.edu/about/mission/)
About the Position:
The Criminal Investigations and Network Analysis Center (CINA) Education and Workforce Development Lead builds and manages the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) education and workforce development activities of the center. These activities help educate and train the current and future homeland security workforce in science and engineering professions to enhance the capabilities and effectiveness of the homeland security community. The focus of this role is to train existing professionals and cultivate Homeland Security Enterprise (HSE)-critical skills and experience among current students through a variety of projects, programs, and events. This position is essential to successfully execute the education and workforce development aspect of the center's mission.
