About the Department:
The organizational objective/mission for the Film and Video Studies program is 1) offer courses leading to a BA in Film and Video offering concentrations in directing and producing, production and post-production (cinematography, editing, and sound), and screenwriting; 2) coordinate (and co-coordinate) a series of public film screenings, student showcases, and visiting artist speakers series; and 3) support a cohesive faculty and staff to carry out objectives 1 and 2.
About the Position:
The Part-Time Equipment Cage Supervisor is a non-student wage position responsible for supporting and building our video production equipment rental program. The Equipment Cage Supervisor is responsible for training student workers as well as demoing equipment to film students during equipment checkout.
As part of the Film and Video Studies Program’s technical staff, the Equipment Cage Supervisor will also be responsible for supporting program events, including the Visiting Filmmakers Series, Production Fairs, and the Mason Film Festival.
The Equipment Cage Supervisor will also help produce video training materials to augment the technical training that students receive during in-class instruction.
This position is ideal for individuals interested in maintaining an active freelance career in the film and television industry, and also developing the next generation of filmmaking professionals.
