Scalia Law recently achieved its highest ranking in U.S. News. We are ranked #28 among all law schools, #2 among law schools in the D.C. area, and #2 among law schools in Virginia. This achievement follows two remarkable fundraising successes: gifts totaling $30 million, which named the law school in honor of the late Justice Antonin Scalia, and a bequest of more than $50 million from the late Judge Allison M. About the Position:
George Mason University Antonin Scalia Law School invites applications for lateral faculty positions to begin August 2025. Tenured positions will need to follow normal tenured faculty hiring processes at the Law School and the University.

We seek exceptional faculty candidates whose backgrounds and perspectives will enhance the law school’s intellectual culture and the education of our students. The primary purpose of law faculty is to provide effective teaching to Juris Doctor students, produce original scholarly works for publication, and provide service, including leadership, through participation in governance, and operational or development activities in the Law School, the University, and/or the legal profession. Additionally, in accordance with ABA law school accreditation standards, law faculty share with the dean the primary responsibility and authority for planning, implementing, and administering the program of legal education; selection, retention, promotion and tenure of faculty; and determining educational policy.
