About the Department:

The College of Engineering and Computing (CEC) Office of Undergraduate Studies provides proactive CEC-wide leadership, supervision, guidance, and accountability for CEC undergraduate studies. The Office works as a bridge for undergraduate studies between CEC department-level responsibilities and university-level responsibilities with regard to student recruitment and admissions, academic advising, oversight and conflict resolution, and academic policy and program development and management.

About the Position:

The Undergraduate Recruitment Coordinator has primary responsibility for recruitment of undergraduate students to the College of Engineering and Computing (CEC) in coordination with the Office of Admissions. This position is responsible for CEC's undergraduate recruitment strategy and coordination with university-level recruitment activities and initiatives. The coordinator works with recruitment representatives from each academic department and serves as CEC’s liaison to the Office of Admissions. Applicants for the Undergraduate Recruitment Coordinator position must be motivated, proactive, people-oriented critical thinkers with outstanding judgment interested in working collaboratively with faculty, staff, prospective and current students.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates the College of Engineering and Computing's participation in undergraduate recruitment activities and initiatives of the University's Office of Admissions;
  • Represents CEC on the University's Recruitment Action Council;
  • Ensures full participation by CEC in all appropriate Admissions activities;
  • Manages and leads recruitment both in-person and at virtual recruitment events;
  • Represents CEC undergraduate programs at college fairs and other recruitment events;
  • Develops and manages CEC-specific recruitment events;
  • In conjunction with the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs, CEC’s Communications staff, and the University's Enrollment Management team, develops and coordinates a strategy for recruitment and marketing of undergraduate programs;
  • Assists with development of recruitment strategy and conducts annual reviews and updates;
  • Assists with development of recruitment marketing plan and leads implementation for the Office of Undergraduate Studies;
  • Develops and maintains a comprehensive recruitment calendar for the Office of Undergraduate Studies;
  • Develops and maintains recruitment materials for prospective students;
  • Monitors, reports, and advises on management of new undergraduate student enrollment;
  • Reviews undergraduate Admissions data for upcoming semesters on a weekly basis;
  • Reports on new undergraduate student enrollment to stakeholders (Associate Dean, College and School administration, academic departments) monthly, or more frequently as appropriate during critical times;
  • Documents and presents trends or unusual variation in performance. Recommends strategy to remediate or capitalize on performance;
  • Serves as the primary point of contact within the College of Engineering and Computing for prospective undergraduate students and families;
  • Responds to all inquiries in a timely manner;
  • Accommodates visit and meeting requests from prospective students and families either personally or by coordinating with other CEC faculty, staff, and/or students;
  • Stays informed about undergraduate programs offered within the college and key elements of those programs; and
  • Other related duties as assigned. 

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Experience supporting recruitment activities, including planning, organizing, and managing recruitment-related events and workflow;
  • Experience working in a dynamic environment, navigating written and verbal interaction with multiple stakeholder groups;
  • Experience with event planning and management;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of process and strategy development;
  • Skills in effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication;
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with a diverse groups of individuals;
  • Ability to demonstrate significant attention to detail and perform work with a high degree of accuracy;
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize daily activities;
  • Ability to remain organized while working on multiple, simultaneous projects; and
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field;
  • Progressive experience in higher education and/or marketing, ideally in undergraduate student recruitment;
  • Knowledge of engineering and computing fields;
  • Knowledge of undergraduate student recruitment practices; and
  • Knowledge of higher education student information systems and business intelligence systems.
