The George Mason University School of Integrative Studies (SIS) is committed to integrating interdisciplinary knowledge with lifelong learning by offering experiential, hands-on learning that connects the classroom to the world. Our academic advisors engage students in understanding and applying university and school programs and services, requirements, policies and procedures. They evaluate students' academic progress, provides guidance in determining students' academic interests and objectives, and aides them to develop long-range academic and career plans. About the Position:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide comprehensive academic advising to SIS students. The academic advisor supports student success by guiding course selection, degree planning, and university policies, while fostering engagement and retention. This role also involves collaborating with faculty, staff, and university offices to ensure a high-quality advising experience aligned with the school’s academic goals and student support mission.
Some evening hours will be required for certain recruitment events.
Please note, this is not a 100% remote/virtual position, however it is telework friendly.
