About the Department:
The Division for Enrollment Management, as part of the Office of the Provost at George Mason University, supports student recruitment, retention, and success. We develop and implement strategic enrollment management plans, create and facilitate processes, and inform policies that guide students through their academic journey from recruitment to post-matriculation. Driven by a commitment to transparent, data-informed decision-making, the Division advances institutional enrollment goals through collaboration, innovation and a student-centered approach.
The Office of Admissions facilitates the recruitment and enrollment of freshmen, transfer, graduate, and non-degree students in alignment with the University's strategic plan, ensuring a diverse and successful student body that contributes to the institution's excellence and global impact.
About the Position:
The Senior Regional Admissions Counselor spearheads the recruitment and enrollment of undergraduate students by developing and implementing effective student recruitment, marketing, and relationship management plans that meet the strategic enrollment goals of the university; researches and develops potential articulation agreements that could benefit future Mason's undergraduate freshman and transfer enrollment and utilizes the existing customer relationship management (CRM) technology to maximize all aspects of the undergraduate funnel. Works with internal and external campus stakeholders to promote and increase the Mason brand in the New York/New Jersey area. Reviews applicant files and makes appropriate admission decisions.
This position requires frequent evening and weekend work and extensive travel. Position is expected to safely and independently lift 20 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities:
Actively recruits new undergraduate students by conducting recruitment activities in assigned region
Reviews all types of applicant files and makes appropriate admissions decisions following established policies and procedures
Builds relationships with local school counselors, community-based organizations, and area schools
Performs other related duties as assigned
