Auxiliary Services and Operations
The Building Services Technician supports daily operation, maintenance, and upkeep of Student Centers facilities by performing a wide range of building services, repair, and maintenance functions. This position helps ensure the Student Center buildings and surrounding areas remain safe, functional, and welcoming for students, staff, and visitors. Responsibilities include performing skilled and semi-skilled maintenance work in areas such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, and general building repairs; operating hand, power, and shop tools; and assisting with preventative maintenance activities. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, including during inclement weather, with primary responsibility for the Johnson Center, The Hub, and Student Union Building I, as well as support for facilities across the university. The position collaborates closely with Student Centers Building Services and Operations supervisors to provide consistent operational support during all hours of operation and to maintain adequate inventory of materials, parts, tools, and supplies necessary for efficient facility maintenance.
